Rug and drawing

Above is a traditionally hooked rag rug that I made a few years ago. It took me two years to complete and it is 10' x 5' made entirely of recycled wool garments, scraps from friend's sewing projects and my own clothes. It now lives in Madagasgar inside the American Embassy.

Below, is a medium sized drawing that I did in 2008 of a baboon, a Secretary Bird and a double headed snake. "Double Trouble"

Camel

This is a drawing with graphite on paper. Title: "Outpost" 2008

Big Buffalo in the West Oakland studio.

This is a drawing done with acrylic paint on raw linen. It is about 9' x 5'. I have been working on it on and off for a couple of months now.

2011 UPDATE! I'm BACK!!!

Hi everyone,
Yes, it has been a long time since I updated my blog. 2008 was the last entry. Sad, I know... But, I have decided to attempt blogging again. Maybe it will catch on and hold this time. I will post interesting things that I'm up to or have seen on this blog. I promise! Thanks for looking. -Tara

I am also in an equally super group show in Oakland, CA. at the Oakland Art Gallery, called "Beastiaries." The other artists are: Jo Ann Biagini, Michael Hall, David Hevel, Peter Honig, Misako Inaoka, Tarra Lyons, Daniel Ross and Anna Vaughan.

This little Piggy/ I drew and drew and drew........

This little piggy was also in the Zoid show, but I still need to locate the "good" photo of it for this blog. But for now you can look at it as it was on my work table. The show turned out to be a wonderful experience for me. I had to create an entire solo show of 12 new drawings in about three months time! That is a record for me. The Javalina above was one of the last of that series. I was feeling kind of tired and it represents how I felt.
Steven Zevitas and his most excellent gallery staff framed and hung the show to perfection. I flew out to Boston and was so happy.

More work from ZOID at the OSP/ Steven Zevitas Gallery in Boston

Here are some more images of the drawings that I made for the show in Boston.

This drawing is part of a new series of work that I am doing that is about animal life mergeing with plant life. Some day I will provide a better artist's statement to further explain myself.
